I often hear people say that they can't afford food storage especially freeze dried food. When you break it down into the cost of meals you can see that these convenience meals are a lot less expensive then eating at the least expensive fast food restaurants and a whole lot healthier!

To prepare Beef Stew:
Remover oxygen absorber.
Combine stew mix and 6 cups water in a dutch oven or large pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20-25 minutes.
You can also store these in Mylar bags. In a jar on your pantry shelf these meals can last 5-7 years. In a Mylar bag on your pantry shelf they can last 3-5 years. The advantage of using a Mylar bag is that you can make the meal as large or as small as you want. This bag pictured on the right has extra potato dices and 1/4 cup of Thrive Freeze Dried Green Beans.
The jar recipe makes 10-12 1 cup servings. Serve with biscuits and you have one of my families favorite meals!
